James Young

 

An international executive with significant multi-unit and multi-brand experience in Europe, the Middle East and South East Asia. James has built and guided high performing teams of many nationalities in complex city and resort hotels. He positions properties and forms trust with owners, the community and other key stakeholders, thereby creating long term value. He has an ability to share vision with colleagues at all levels, with a special focus on talent development. He has a passion for national cultures and their impact on the work place; he uses his knowledge in this area for coaching, building cross-cultural understanding and collaborating with universities through lectures and career advice.  James holds an MBA with Distinction from the University of Bradford School of Management, and a B.Sc. (Hons) in International Hospitality and Tourism with First Class Honours from Sheffield Hallam University. James is a Fellow of the Institute of Hospitality. In his spare time, he enjoys rugby, fitness, international relations and gastronomy; he is a past President of the International Wine and Food Society, Saigon chapter.
